Artsy Lexi, What I'm all about.

Well, hello all! I'm delighted you found my page and I'd like to give you a little heads up on what you can expect to find. I have been a professional makeup artist since 2011 and I have worked on weddings, runways, and photo shoots like maternity all the way to avant-garde. While attending Paul Mitchell the School, and even after I graduated, I worked at bareMinerals a total of 4 years, 2 of which I was one of the shift managers ad in charge of education for the whole team. The knowledge I have gathered over the years on application techniques, what products work best on all skin types, what applications work on every eye shape, and so on have helped me grow as a business and also driven my passion to keep learning and striving to be the best. I love what I do and I can't wait to share.

I love this DIY charcoal mask ! So satisfying.

Since I am passionate about the application of makeup I have also developed a love of skincare. I once had very oily skin all over however, since having my little girl last year my cheeks have become extremely dry while my T-zone has stayed super oily. This has led me on a very long quest to find ways to balance things out and try out a slew of different products. Believe me I am still on this quest and most likely will be for a long time. I plan on posting reviews and diy projects on how to tackle many different skin issues and keep you up to date on when I find my "holy grail" products and my "what was I thinking" products.

Just a few things I recently made. Crocheted hats and head bands made from T-shirt material.

So, not only do I love cosmetics and all things beauty, I am all about crafting of any type. I paint using a multitude of different mediums. I have loved crochet since I was a little girl and my Gradma taught me. I have also dabbled in stained glass, jewelry making, gardening (that's a craft right?) and so much more. My daughter has been the biggest inspiration on my crafting binge and so far has included a canopy, headbands, paci clips, to name a few. The next big task I have coming up is decorating a room for her and converting her to a toddler room so expect many diy projects and updates on making my vision come to life. The types of medium I have worked with go on and on and while I may not be amazing at every one, I am more than happy to share what I know and have learned. As I take on more crafty indevers will be sure to include you in each step.

Speaking of steps, as a new mom, I have enjoyed watching my daughter grow. Taking her first steps, smiling for the first time, celebrating her first birthday. I want to share it all with you. Not just to share what I have learned, but to also keep a journal I can look back on as well as share with her when she is older. Being a mother is something I have always wanted to do, and while I make mistakes (what mom doesn't F-up here and there) I try my hardest to do everything in my power to keep her safe, healthy, and keep her little growing mind at work all the time. Not matter the ups and downs you must always pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and continue moving forward improving each step of the way. By all means, I'm not mommy of the year in the eyes of many people out there, but every time my baby girl looks at me and smiles, laughs, snuggles and kisses me, or learns something new I know I mean the world to her and I continue to try my best every step we take together.

Life is full of beauty, challenges, and fun. I hope you will follow along and enjoy what life tosses my way.
